Using Google as Your Weather Reporter
Have you ever wanted to find the weather forecast for your city without turning on The Weather Channel or wading through a weather provider’s advertisement-crowded homepage to find your weather report? If so, you are in luck! With Google, all you have to do is go to the no-nonsense Google homepage or go to the search bar in your favorite web browser and type weather the name of a city into the search box.
For example, if you are stuck in the office late one day and want to feel better about the work you are doing, you could check to see if it is raining in Hawaii. If you checked when I did, you’ll no doubt be disappointed as the next four days are going to be beautiful!
Suppose you are traveling to China for the Olympics this summer. It may be nice to know what the weather will be like. Google can tell you in 0.20 seconds!
Unlike the world time feature, which we discussed yesterday, Google Weather indexes small towns, such as my old stompin’ ground, Brighton, MI.
So next time you get the urge to check out the weather in any city in the world, save yourself some time, and do it from the convenience of a Google search bar.
